House on Evening Hill Interior

location: Poole Harbour, Dorset

year: 2002

client: Private

Furniture in the House on Evening Hill has been kept as low as possible to maximise the feeling of space and the views of Poole Harbour. A ‘white finished’ aluminium hand rail forms a continuous flow from the lower level, running up one side of the staircase before turning back on itself to flow over the top edge of the glass balustrade in the main living space, leading the eye out to the balcony and harbour view. The collection of textile art is by British artist Polly Bins and the transparent wire frame maquettes are by Dutch artist Marijke de Goey. The aluminium frame and acrylic top tables are part of the ‘aerospace furniture’ range designed by Richard Horden.
