One of the main goals with this design was the minimization of size, so that the unit could be transported by helicopter or in a standard shipping container. However, it still has to offer enough space for two people to survive and to spend a few days in it in a region of extreme cold. This required an extremely effective insulated skin, and a shape with optimal wind resistance.
The basic form and structure were taken from the ski-doo™ snowmobile, but also from the tobogganing penguin! They have inhabited Antarctica for millions of years, while man has only been visiting for the last 100 or so, and not very comfortably!
