Overview

This project involved a full refurbishment of a London residence in W11, including the master suite, kitchen and dining areas, alongside a rear extension and garden alterations. The interventions enhance spatial quality, materiality, and functionality throughout the home. Improved daylighting to the lower ground living area is achieved through large glazed openings, strengthening visual and physical connections to the garden. A palette of Portland stone and crisp white render delivers a refined, contemporary aesthetic that integrates seamlessly with the existing architecture, creating a cohesive relationship between interior and exterior spaces.

The restructured garden introduces a series of defined levels, optimising spatial organization and circulation. Portland stone terraces and pathways provide a durable yet elegant surface treatment, while white rendered retaining walls reinforce the clean architectural language. Integrated planters soften the structured geometry with a curated selection of plant species, supported by an automated irrigation system for efficient and sustainable maintenance. The interplay of hard and soft landscaping creates a dynamic yet cohesive outdoor environment, balancing form and function.

Outdoor living is further enhanced by a built-in BBQ and integrated fireplace, designed as focal points for social gatherings. These elements extend the usability of the space across seasons, reinforcing the garden as a functional extension of the home. The design ensures a seamless interplay between materiality, lighting, and spatial composition, delivering a sophisticated yet practical urban retreat in the heart of W11.
